In December 2024, Nikki’s regular mammogram wasn’t so regular. At 48 years old and with no family history, she was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. After multiple surgeries, 16 rounds of chemotherapy and 20 rounds of radiation, she is doing well and grateful for modern medicine, and the cancer research that has provided her the opportunity to receive these life-saving treatments. She has been able to work (almost normally) and continued making and bottling wine throughout her treatments.
In the middle of her own cancer treatments, Nikki’s Dad, Dominick, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. Because screening for pancreatic cancer is more difficult, it was very advanced and and he passed away within 3 months of being diagnosed.
Like so many of you, cancer has hit this family hard, especially this year.
Needless to say, she wanted to partner with the V Foundation for Cancer Research. With the release of their first ever Grenache (with special pink accented label and wax) they will be donating proceeds from the sale of each bottle to fund life-saving research.
